Professional Schooling vs Home Schooling: A debate

Many people debate on what makes one the best school. A few people claim that home schooling trumps everything else. In this blog, let us look at a few main points in this debate of professional schooling vs home schooling.

Many people believe that nobody can do the job better than professionals, and this applies to education as well. Schools are quite proficient in the art of imparting education because they have the specialised resources for it, besides having the relevant experience. Experienced teachers know how to deal with different situations that may arise while dealing with students. Accordingly, they believe that parents might not be able to do as well with kids when it comes to home schooling.

The second major factor that makes the best school in Mumbai even better than the smartest parents is the fact that schools give exposure to kids and allow them to become social beings. They develop social intelligence and make important friendships for life. They get multiple role models and have an open mind. They also get a chance to learn about different cultures.

While online companies can develop the best resources to enable parents to educate the kids at home, nothing beats the kind of exposure that proper, decent schools can provide to students. Home schooling is good option for a) families which are located in remote parts of the world b) fill up the intervening periods when a family has to shift to a different location in the middle of the school year.
In the traditional scenario, home schooling is not a good option, irrespective of how smart and learned the parents might be. Some things are best left to professionals and parents should concentrate on giving the kids those things that schools are unable to provide: unconditional relationships, strong role models, and the idea of how family and relationships work.
