The days spend at our nursery school is by far
the best days of our lives. Not that we remember every moment spend there, but we
have all had our moments there. Now, how do we have moments when we can’t
remember much about that time? This is where our parents play an important role;
they narrate to us all those wonderful moments that we’ve had at our nursery
school or kindergarten school which is more than enough to make us smile or to
cherish those wonderful moments.
Let’s talk about our first day at
school, I’m sure all of us have cried our lungs out the first day either with
fear or with anger. Most kids hate the first day of their school, they need to
be bribed with chocolates or a toy or anything that they love. If looked at
closely, nursery is the first place for an infant to step into the real world;
it is a journey that begins marking our entire life. It is our first step on
mother earth where we meet new people and interact. It’s a place where we learn,
where we play, where we grow. Once we have finished with our pre-schooling then
we are introduced to top schools in India. Let’s discuss
more about nursery schools:
History
So, to begin with a nursery
school has many other names or rather synonyms, i.e. kindergarten, pre-school,
pre-primary and many more. Each country has a different name so to say. The
concept of pre-schools was started by Samuel Wilderspin in 1848 but the oldest
known concept is of a gurukul, which was the ancient Hindu teaching system. The
concept of pre-school was borrowed from it and coined differently. Nursery
schools gained popularity in late 1800s and since then has become an important
part of the education system.
Teaching
Unlike your schools, nursery
schools have an altogether different teaching methodology. Since we all are
aware of it being the first stepping stone to a child’s future, we must know
that it requires utmost patience and understanding in terms of teaching. Now,
since we as kids don’t really enjoy the idea of a preschool for various
reasons, be it taking us away from our home, stealing our freedom of playing
the entire time, or any such reason, we also tend to start hating schools.
Thus, teachers at playschools play a very important role. They must be understanding,
loving, caring and patient. Nursery schools aim at developing the child, so
that he or she can mould accordingly in the world. It helps us make our
foremost friends and we also tend to have few enemies so to say. Kindergarten
is a playground where learning is inculcated by way of fun, which is why today
each parent understands the importance of a play school.
Nursery schools are of utmost
importance because it is where we begin to nurture outside our comfort zones. Every
child learns to socialise here, and it’s an important step to their growing
years. So, make sure you send your child to a nursery school.
